FULL SUN EXTRACTS

During their travels through Tuscany, Silvia and Rainer Plum develop their first full sun extracts of medicinal plants from wild collection in organic olive oil and produce natural body oils from them.

1980

FOUNDATION OF TAUTROPFEN NATURAL COSMETICS

To sell the first products in two friendly organic stores, Silvia and Rainer Plum founded TAUTROPFEN Natural Cosmetics in April 1980. In addition to baby products, rose cream and rose facial oil, calendula, chamomile, and peppermint balms, as well as calendula and rosemary skin oil, are the first products, all organic and natural.

TRANSPARENCY

Long before the EU-wide labeling requirement was legally mandated in 1998, TAUTROPFEN from the very beginning consistently declared all ingredients and was also a pioneer of its time in this regard.

1984

FIRST CERTIFICATION

TAUTROPFEN becomes a founding member of the Federal Association of Natural Food/Natural Goods (BNN) and one of the world’s first two manufacturers of certified natural cosmetics according to strict standards (BNN).

1988

ORGANIC ROSE PROJECT

In Turkey, guided by Rainer Plum, the world’s first organic cultivation and distillation project for Damask roses is established. TAUTROPFEN receives organic rose petals, organic rose oil, and organic rose water from this project. It is the first pure organic rose water that is not preserved with alcohol or other substances.

1989

DEMETER CERTIFICATION

TAUTROPFEN baby products become the world’s first natural cosmetics products recognized by the Demeter Association according to strict biodynamic standards. Over the years, the lavender and marigold products also receive DEMETER recognition.

SANDDORN CREAM & SKIN OIL

Silvia and Rainer Plum meet the Swiss phytotherapist Kurt Künzi. He cultivates 30 hectares of Demeter seabuckthorn in the Pisan Tuscan region. TAUTROPFEN is the first company to process high-quality Demeter seabuckthorn oil into cosmetic products.

1999

FIRST SEAL

TAUTROPFEN is a key co-initiator of the establishment of the Natural Cosmetics Working Group in the BDIH Association. Since 2001, it has awarded the first quality seal for certified natural cosmetics.

2003

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

Silvia and Rainer Plum sell the TAUTROPFEN brand and the product formulations to a German cosmetics company.

2005

NEW PRODUCTS

Numerous new products are developed, including the amaranth cream, seabuckthorn and rose emulsion, among others.

2013

NEW OWNER

Bijia Natural Cosmetics GmbH based in Frankfurt am Main, owned by Wuzhen Bi, acquires the trademark rights to TAUTROPFEN. The products continue to be developed and manufactured in Germany to this day.

2021

BACK TO THE ROOTS

Mr. Bi develops the vision for TAUTROPFEN to return the brand to its origins and to establish it as the leading natural cosmetics manufacturer for high-quality facial oils.

2022

NEW PRODUCTS, NEW PACKAGING

With the soothing and regenerating facial oil and the firming eye oil, the first new TAUTROPFEN care products are created. The glass bottles take on the shape of droplets.
