Project “Phytotrade Africa” is supported by the acquisition of Ximenia oil.

Africa has countless treasures that can be found in nature. The thorny Ximenia bushes with very dark bark and dark green leaves, for example. They are also popularly called “wild plum” or “wild olive” and are mainly native to the grass savannas of Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Each of the bushes bears plum-sized fruits, the color of which varies between reddish-brown and yellow. The seeds contain about 60 – 70% valuable oil, which contains a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids. The oil has an anti-inflammatory effect and is ideal for dry skin.

By using this Ximenia oil in our products, we support the “Phytotrade Africa” project, which ensures the fair and sustainable trade of African resources with Europe, Asia and Northern Europe. It is an association of several African companies that monitors and supports farmers in cultivation, environmental sustainability and the eco-certification of raw materials. Legitimate access to African biological resources, traditional knowledge and culture is made possible without exploiting them. The project promotes local organic cultivation and also local living and working conditions.
